On Friday I went to visit Rutz Salon in Kihei where I have been getting my hair done forever. My red color needed some TLC (Major TLC!) and Rutz is the place I go because red is a tricky one.
My colorist, Danny-Joe, is also a wig maker. In the past few months he and Rutz owner Linda, had entered a wig making competition. They haven't received the results of the competition yet but I am so blown away by what Danny-Joe came up with.
These are wigs made entirely out of pool noodles! You know the ones, the long neon flotation devises that you can also use for poolside sword fights. They are light weight, so Danny-Joe was able to get an ample amount of volume and detail but weight on the head is perfect. To me they resemble the galactic edgy hairstyles in Japanese Anime cartoons. I cannot even imagine the work that went into each of these.
Rutz owner, Linda, let me know that they might be getting pulled for a cover shoot for a Major California Magazine. I will definitely get my hands on some images to post in that event.
Meanwhile, I am not actually sure which one is my favorite. Drop me a line here in my comments section and let me know which one you like best and why.
